Linda's Bags was built on one simple belief. A bag should get better, not worse.
For too long you have been told to pick one. Buy something beautiful and replace it in two years, or buy something that lasts and carry a bag that looks like it was built for a hike. I have never believed that. Leather is the one material that improves with use — and if a bag is falling apart before it has had a chance to, somebody cut a corner well before it reached you.
My Mission
To make bags that are worth keeping. Leather that darkens and softens instead of cracking and peeling. Straps stitched where they take the weight. Room for what you actually carry — a wallet, your glasses, a book, somebody else's keys. Made for real days and real shoulders, not for a photograph.
My Vision
A world where a woman buys one good bag and stops looking. Where the thing you have carried longest is the thing you like best. Where the wear is the point, not the problem — the creases in the leather a record of where you have been rather than a reason to replace it.
What I Stand For
The leather first, always. Every hide gets looked at before anything is cut from it. If it won't age well, it doesn't get made into anything.
Made to be kept. I cut the first of every style myself, with my father's knife, and I carry it for a month. If the strap sits wrong on the shoulder, I take it apart and start again. Twenty-five years, and I have never once skipped that part.
Real women, real days. I make bags for women who carry things. Women who want something that looks like theirs at sixty-five, not like somebody else's at forty.
Wear you can see. The color deepens where your hand sits. The leather folds where you fold it. Nothing about a bag from this bench is designed to stay looking new, because new is the least interesting thing a bag can be.
My Promise
When you buy from Linda's Bags, you are not just buying a bag.
My father's knife is half the blade it was when I got it, because two people used it for a living. That is what leather and steel both do — they keep the record.
I am closing the shop. The bags don't know that. Carry yours until it looks like yours.
